API Marine has signed a contract with Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Inc for delivery of sensors and systems for icebreaking condensate carrier (NB 515). The sensors package supplied by API Marine for this vessel will all have Winterazation Approval with capabilities to operate in temperatures to -55 Celsius.
This vessel will be built to operate from the Yamal Peninsula to Europe and Asia. The tanker will be able to operate independently in the demanding ice conditions of the Northern Sea route. The main duty of the vessel is to secure safe transportation of gas condensate year-round. The vessel will be built to a strong ice class Arc 7 and it can independently break almost 2 m thick ice.
