Irina Gracheva will be the first Russian female sailor to participate in the challenging Mini-Transat race in October this year. Irina is set to cross the Atlantic Ocean in one of the world’s smallest sailing boats – Class MINI 6.5 – at only 6.5m for solo racing across Atlantic Ocean.
API Marine is supporting Irina on her journey.
Irina has been sailing since the age of 12, where this passion has steadily grown into a way of life. After winning Russian sailor of the year in 2017, Irina’s career as a solo ocean sailor has excelled, sailing over 6000 nautical miles in her first season alone.
The Mini-Transat race is complicated and challenging, participants must be great navigators, well versed in meteorology, and be able to prepare the yacht technically, all without any contact to the shore. Expected to last around a month, the 4,000 nautical miles covered will be a long journey requiring plenty of endurance and drive.
Impressing us with her professionalism, enthusiasm and ambition, API Marine has decided to support Irina to help her achieve this huge undertaking.
We wish Irina fair wind and look forward to following her journey!
